Partnering with Mattel, we developed a suite of interactive digital experiences for Mission: Play!, a new Family Entertainment Centre in Abu Dhabi. Leveraging gesture-tracking technology and high-quality animation, we created engaging attractions that allow guests to immerse themselves in Barbie’s world; racing her moped along the coast, playing beach volleyball, and designing stylish outfits in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
As a 3D and Unreal Engine Generalist, I contributed to the 3D modeling of the vespa asset and assisted in troubleshooting animation clips for the Barbie assets.
To ensure a cohesive experience across Mattel’s diverse portfolio of brands, we provided end-to-end creative oversight; guiding vendors and collaborating with their teams to maintain consistent artistic and technical standards. Our role encompassed creative direction, game design supervision, art direction, technical consultation, and content strategy, ensuring every element aligned with Mattel’s brand vision and audience expectations.
Mission: Play! is designed as a vibrant world-building destination, where families can explore, play, and create together. Within the Barbie zone, our three interactive games invite guests to step into her hometown of Malibu, California; whether becoming a trailblazing designer at Barbie Fashion Week, cruising to the beach on a Vespa, or competing with friends in a projection-based beach sports challenge. Each experience blends creativity, interactivity, and technology to bring the Barbie universe to life.
